International Patient Services

At Gleneagles Global Hospitals, we work hard to provide an unique environment with first-rate amenities, caring staff, and cutting-edge medical techniques. Many foreign patients traveling to India for medical treatment choose Gleneagles Global Hospitals because of our state-of-the-art medical equipment, extensive research resources, and best-in-class treatment choices.

Guidelines for a Medical Tourist

Gleneagles Global Hospitals works closely with patients from other countries to make sure their travels are simple and hassle-free. Patients should, however, exercise caution and be well informed of their rights and obligations. They must look at the following things before leaving:

  • Valid travel documents and visa: A patient’s medical history, X-rays, MRIs, pictures, prescriptions, immunization records, and any other information that are related to the procedure should be included. You can store your valuables and important documents in lockers at Gleneagles Global Hospitals.
  • A certificate on travel fitness from the local doctor.
  • Confirmation of lodging options for the duration of the treatment.
  • A driving permit from another country if you plan to drive in India.
  • Understand the estimated cost and level of care that will be offered.

Accommodation and Facilities

Gleneagles Global Hospitals works closely with the patient and any accompanying family members to arrange for the appropriate lodging and other services. We strive to ensure that the best accommodations are provided to the patients and caregivers, taking into account their unique needs.

Patient Relations Cell

All of our in-patients are guaranteed an incredibly welcoming and hassle-free experience at Gleneagles Global Hospitals by a patient relations cell.

Patient Relations Cell addresses the following issues:

  • Concerns about your hospitalization
  • Concerns regarding the hospital’s rules
  • Concerns regarding the services provided by Gleneagles Global Hospitals
  • Any unique requirements the patient or their family members may have

Preparing for Admission

We request all of our patients to schedule their hospitalization and stay well in advance; this is especially important for patients from outside the country who are traveling a large distance to receive healthcare. Your admission date and the time you should arrive at one of our chosen hospitals will be communicated to you by our International Patients Services Desk.

Depending on the situation, professionals at our hospital may also arrange for diagnostic procedures like blood tests or X-rays. Prior to your admission, these tests will be completed at the hospital.

On request, we can provide interpreters for our international patients in a number of languages, including Arabic, Nigerian languages, Japanese, Cantonese, and Mandarin. Additionally, we can offer sign language interpreters.

  • Plan your required stay after seeing your physician.
  • Understand and be aware of the necessary procedures.
  • Discuss the expected outcome of hospitalization with your doctor.
  • Prepare your finances for the treatment, travel, and unforeseen expenses.
  • Choose a caregiver and an emergency contact.

Going Home

You will be evaluated for your ability to go home once your medical team decides that you are healthy enough to be released. Specific discharge instructions tailored to the patient’s need will be given by the medical staff. We shall take into account your capacity for handling travel-related stress before advising discharge.

Medical Visa

Every patient visiting India for medical care needs a visa; to obtain one, they must go to the Indian consulate in their chosen city or nation. Gleneagles Global Hospitals will assist you with the papers required for the visa, but the embassy and its representatives are ultimately responsible for granting the visa.

As part of the visa application, the embassy may request evidence such as a proof of address, proof of income to cover medical costs, insurance commitment, prescription and treatment plan, and others. A visa cost is also charged, and the individual is responsible for paying it. The same steps must be taken to obtain a caregiver’s visa if a patient is traveling with them.

Patients must send the hospital a copy of their passports and the passports of any accompanying individuals. The patient’s medical visa invitation letter will be sent via email to them and the closest Indian embassy once the hospital’s International Patient Care team has received the copies of the passports.

Your name as it appears on your passport along with your passport numbers will be included in the medical invitation letter that we prepare for your visa. Patients from other countries are advised to print the document and bring the required documents when they visit the Indian embassy. Patients are further instructed to make a note of the time and date of their appointment at the nearby Indian Embassy.
