Dr Mathangi J Graduated from Govt. Stanley Medical College, Chennai and has obtained her DMRT from Govt. General Hospital under Madras Medical College, Chennai. She has completed several advanced courses in radiation oncology and has received DNB (Radiotherapy) from the far-famed Apollo Cancer Specialty Hospital, Chennai. Currently, she works as Senior Consultant and In-Charge Radiation Oncologist at the well reputed BGS Gleneagles Global Hospitals, Bangalore, India.

She has been responsible for installing Asia Pacific’s first-ever TrueBeam STx machine. She has vast experience in 3D conformal radiotherapy, Intensity-modulated radiotherapy, Image-guided radiotherapy, RapidArc, Gated RapidArc, Adaptive radiotherapy, Stereotactic radiosurgery (for brain tumours), Stereotactic body radiotherapy, DIBH Gating, 4DCT, Total body radiation (TBI), Total skin electron therapy (TSET), Intraluminal brachytherapy & Interstitial brachytherapy.

Dr Mathangi J has an overall experience of over 13 years, she has served in numerous oncology centres in India apart from her work stints in Singapore General Hospital and training in Advanced Radiotherapy Techniques from Radiation Oncology Departments in Berlin, Germany, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Copenhagen, Denmark.

Her commitment to bringing advanced and expert care has seen her attending various medical conferences nationally and internationally. She has presented papers and got her research published in national and in international journals like International Journal of Cancer Research and European Breast Cancer Congress among others. She is a gold medal at DMRT, conducted by AROI Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. She has also received an award for the Best Internal Auditor of NABH Accreditation Program.

Dr Mathangi is also the Director of Fellowship in Advanced Radiation Oncology (FARO) affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and organizes patient support and rehabilitation program- “I am fine – back to life” for cancer survivors every year.
