Sleeve Gastrectomy Treatment in Bangladesh
Sleeve gastrectomy, also known as gastric sleeve, is a surgical weight-loss operation in which a large portion of the stomach is surgically removed, following the main curve, to reduce the stomach to around 15% of its original size. The open edges of the stomach are then stitched together (usually with surgical staples, sutures, or both) to form a tube or sleeve with a banana shape. The treatment decreases the size of the stomach indefinitely. Laparoscopic surgery is used to perform the operation. With a sleeve gastrectomy alone, most patients should expect to lose 85 to 90 percent of their excess body weight in 6–12 months.
