Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) Surgery in Bangladesh
CABG (coronary artery bypass grafting) is a form of heart surgery that improves blood flow. It is prescribed for patients with serious coronary heart disease (CHD), also known as coronary artery disease.
CHD is a disease in which plaque (plak) forms within the coronary arteries. Your heart receives oxygen-rich blood through these arteries. Plaque is a material contained in the blood that is made up of fat, cholesterol, calcium, and other substances.
A healthy artery or vein from the body is grafted to the blocked coronary artery during CABG. The grafted artery or vein circumvents (or bypasses) the blocked part of the coronary artery.
This opens up a new passage, allowing oxygen-rich blood to bypass the blockage and reach the heart muscle.
