Colonoscopy in Bangladesh
A colonoscopy is a procedure that examines the large intestine (colon) and the rectum for changes or anomalies.
A long, flexible tube (colonoscope) is inserted into the rectum during a colonoscopy. The doctor can see the inside of the colon thanks to a small video camera at the tube’s top.
Polyps or other irregular tissue may be removed via the scope during a colonoscopy if appropriate. During a colonoscopy, tissue samples (biopsies) may also be obtained.
