Dr. Sumit Talwar
Dr. Sumit Talwar is widely recognized for his Bariatric Surgery. He specializes in laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery, small gastric bypass surgery, sleeve gastrectomy, and gastro-intestinal cancer surgery, and also other procedures.
Dr. Sumit completed his MBBS from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in 1993. Then Masters in General Surgery in 1996 from same college. His expertise in the field of Bariatric Surgery, Robotic Surgery and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery.
In Delhi NCR area, Dr. Sumit was a pioneer in the development of bariatric and metabolic surgery. For the treatment of morbid obesity, he performs Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass, Mini Gastric Bypass, Sleeve Gastrectomy, and other operations.
Dr. Sumit is a pioneer in Gastrointestinal Cancer Surgery, with a focus on minimally invasive GI cancer treatment. He has also created a new single-incision laparoscopic surgery technique for the gallbladder, appendix, and hernia that uses common instruments and equipment, lowering the cost of the procedure. In the last five years, he has conducted hundreds of single-incision laparoscopic surgeries in Delhi and the NCR.
He is also a forerunner of thoracoscopic surgery and performs minimally invasive chest surgery such as lung surgery, mediastinal tumors, and esophageal surgery on a regular basis. He is an member of Medical Council of India, and Delhi Medical Council. Dr. Talwar has around 28 Years of Experience Overall and 22 years as a specialist of Bariatric Surgery. He is currently working as a consultant at Manipal Hospitals.
