Hymenoplasty cost in Bangalore

Hymenoplasty, also known as hymenorrhaphy, is a cosmetic repair, rehabilitation, or construction of a woman’s hymen. It also refers to the restoration of the hymen as revirginization.

The hymen is a fold of membranes that changes in shape and structure of the vagina. The hymen is so variable in its character that it can be even absent in virgins. They can also break it into routine physical activity. Hymenoplasty involves the surgical method of ‘gathering up’ the remnants of the hymen, and then the hymenal ridges are surgically tightened. The magnitude to which this is possible is mainly determined by the amount of tissue present in the vagina. Thus, surgery creates the effect of a first-time appearance and experience for the patient.

What are the causes of hymenoplasty?

The entrance of the vagina is protected by a connective tissue called hymen and also considered a symbol of purity for the same reason. The major function of a hymen is to protect the vagina from any type of bacteria. This helps keep the vagina free from any kind of infection. Therefore Hymen is not only considered a symbol of purity, but it also protects the health of a woman.

The hymen may rupture because of a variety of reasons. They use the remnants of the torn hymen for its reconstruction. The various reasons for the rupture of the hymen are:

Sexual contact

Vigorous activities such as horse riding, cycling, stretching, or dancing

Athletics or any other rigorous physical activity.

In the case of sexual assault

What happens during the Hymenoplasy surgery?

Hymenoplasty is usually a simple out-patient procedure that can be performed under local anesthesia in the clinic. Any torn skin around the edges of the hymen is gently and neatly cut, after which we stitch together the remaining tissue, leaving a small opening. This restores the hymenal ring to its normal size and shape.

If there is not enough skin to restore the hymen, or if there is no hymen, the surgeon may make one using either somebody’s own thin vaginal skin (vaginal mucosa) or synthetic tissue. We may add a small amount of blood supply, either artificial or patient-specific, taken from a piece of the vaginal flap, simulating traditional bleeding at subsequent penetration.

Different procedures to perform Hymenoplasty

The first step in the procedure is to fix an appointment with the doctor to discuss the procedure and to clear up any doubts as to the procedure. It’s imperative to make your expectations clear and concise. The doctor will give you a complete picture of what the surgery is all about, along with instructions to prepare for the procedure. The surgeon shall decide the choice of procedure based on the desired outcome. Mainly there are three ways that hymenoplasty is done. The first one is:

The basic technique: in this method remains of the hymen are stitched together. I administer local or general anesthesia to prevent pain and discomfort. The torn parts of the hymen are then sewn together. It can dissolve stitches used. The duration of the procedure is 30 to 40 minutes and is typically performed as a daycare procedure.

Alloplant technique: we use the technique when the remnants cannot be stitched together. The surgeon will insert a biomaterial, and this tear-through material will act as a hymen. They perform the procedure under local/general anesthesia.

Hymen reconstruction:

In this procedure, the surgeon uses tissue from the lip of the vagina to create a new hymen. This method requires the patient to refrain from sexual intercourse for at least three months.

Post-surgery hospital stays may take 5-6 hours. We advise patients not to engage in any kind of rigorous physical activity, such as sports, climbing stairs, and, of course, sexual intercourse.

Before surgery, they take a few health tests to see if the person is healthy enough to perform the surgery. The person must be a Major (18 years of age and older) to perform this surgery.

The cost of hymenoplasty surgery in Bangalore is as follows:

Surgery name A minimum price (Indian rupees) Maximum price (Indian rupees) Average price (Indian rupees)

Who needs a Hymenoplasty

There are a wide variety of reasons women have restored to hymenoplasty. Some reasons for hymenoplasty may include:

Cultural or religious reasons: some cultures, consider an intact hymen to be a sign of the chastity of a woman. It can break hymen during sexual intercourse or otherwise, so having cosmetic surgery to restore the hymen is a way to prove chastity.

Psychological Effect: If they have sexually abused a woman, her hymen is likely to have been torn. In order to undo the psychological trauma, some women choose to undergo hymenoplasty as a treatment to restore them both physically and mentally to the pre-abuse period.

Hymen injury: In some cases, the hymen may tear before the first intercourse, such as tampons or vigorous exercise. If hymen tore because of these activities, hymenoplasty offers a surgical solution.

Revirgination: A woman may want her hymen to be reconstructed (if already broken) when she begins a relationship with a new partner.
