Cervical Discectomy in Bangladesh
The operation to remove a herniated or degenerative disc in the neck is known as anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF). To enter and remove the disc, an incision is made in the throat. The bones above and below the disc are fused together with a graft. If physical therapy and drugs fail to alleviate your pinched nerve pain in your neck or arm, ACDF surgery may be an option.
This operation keeps the disc space from collapsing and helps the bones to develop together to form a bony bridge between the upper and lower vertebrae, known as fusion.
To provide support as the bone fusion recovers, a small metal plate is usually affixed to the front of the upper and lower vertebrae.
