Colonoscopy with Biopsy in Bangladesh
Colonoscopy is a technique that helps the doctor to see through the large intestine of the patient (also known as the colon). This technique can be used to search for polyps or tumours in the large intestine, as well as other issues including inflammation and ulceration. The doctor slides a colonoscope (a camera attached to a long tube) up the anus and into the large intestine to conduct the colonoscopy, and can even take tissue samples to examine the cells throughout the laboratory.
A biopsy is the process of taking tissue samples and analysing the cells inside them. The doctor can also remove irregular growths during the operation in some cases.
