Corpectomy Surgery in Bangladesh
Lumbar corpectomy and fusion is a surgical technique used to relieve pain caused by pinched and blocked nerve roots caused by damaged vertebrae or disc material. This procedure involves removing diseased bone or damaged discs, then fusing the affected vertebrae to restore spinal stability.
Patients with diseased or weakened vertebrae in the lower spine, such as those caused by a spinal fracture, tumour, or infection, may benefit from lumbar corpectomy and fusion. The nerve root is pinched and blocked by the diseased or injured vertebra, causing discomfort in the lower spine. Some deformities in the spinal column are also corrected during this procedure.
