Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy in Bangladesh
Mineral deposits in the kidney form small lumps called kidney stones. Kidney stone treatment includes drinking water and taking medicine to help the patient pass the stone on his own, as well as a variety of surgical procedures to extract the stone from the patient. To extract the stone from the kidney, the doctor can use ureteroscopes, ultrasound/shock waves, or surgical removal. The doctor would use shock waves to smash the kidney stone into tiny bits during Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL). These fragments are tiny enough to pass through the patient’s body spontaneously after urination.
