Haemodialysis in Bangladesh
Normally, our kidneys filter the blood and eliminate waste products and excess fluid. If your kidneys have collapsed, haemodialysis is a method of removing some of your kidney’s functions by filtering and cleaning your blood through a pump.
During hemodialysis, your blood is filtered outside of your body by a dialyzer. Dialyzers are often referred to as “artificial kidneys.”
A dialysis nurse or technician inserts two needles into your arm at the start of your hemodialysis procedure. After being educated by your health care team, you may choose to insert your own needles. If the placement of the needles scares you, a numbing cream or spray may be used. Each needle is connected to a dialysis machine through a soft tube.
