Laparoscopic Anti Reflux in Bangladesh
Patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) are treated with laparoscopic anti-reflux surgery (GERD). This is a disorder in which the contents of the stomach rise up into the oesophagus due to poor gastroesophageal sphincter muscle control. The surgeon can enter the abdominal cavity through small incisions and view the region of concern with a laparoscope (tube with light and camera). The hiatal hernia (if present) will be repaired, and the sphincter will be tightened using a portion of the stomach.
