Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Treatment in Bangladesh
A Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant is a surgery that replaces bone marrow that has been weakened or killed by illness, infection, or chemotherapy. During this process, blood stem cells are transplanted into the bone marrow, where they create new blood cells and stimulate the development of new marrow.
After a brief course of chemotherapy known as conditioning, stem cells are implanted into a recipient during paediatric bone marrow transplantation. Today, this is a viable choice for a variety of genetic diseases, blood disorders, and childhood cancers, and progress has increased dramatically as a result of ongoing studies.
Donating stem cells is similar to donating blood or platelets in that it presents no risk to the donor.
Pediatric BMT Comes in a Variety of Forms
Pediatric BMT is divided into two categories:
Pediatric allogeneic BMT: The donor and recipient are two different people, and BMT is performed using the donor’s stem cells.
Pediatric Autologous BMT: The donor and the recipient are the same individual. The patient’s stem cells are used in BMT. The treatment entails giving the patient a heavy dose of chemotherapy in order to eradicate the primary disease.
