Scaphoid Fracture in Bangladesh
Fracture of the Scaphoid The scaphoid, a broken bone in the wrist, is treated with treatment. A cast (to keep the bone immobilised until it heals) or surgery are two options for treatment. During the procedure, the doctor will make an incision to gain access to the bone and instal implants to hold it in place until it heals. Bone grafts may be needed in some cases.
The aim of care is for the Scaphoid fracture to recover with a healthy blood flow throughout the bone. Placing a screw in the bone to realign and stabilise the fracture is one option for surgical care. Bone grafts will also help with fracture healing.
