Spinal Cord Surgery in Bangladesh
If a patient’s neurogenic pain in the extremities is severe and nonsurgical treatment has failed, surgical intervention is the safest option. If non-surgical treatment fails to relieve symptoms related to spinal cord or nerve root compression, such as severe weakness in an arm, leg, or limb, we can suggest surgery.
These problems can be resolved with spine surgery if:
The spinal cord is being decompressed.
Spinal re-stabilization
Instrumentation and fusion are often used in spinal stabilisation surgery. Different types of implantable instruments, such as rods, screws, plates, or interbody cages, are referred to as instrumentation. Though instrumentation can help with immediate spinal stabilisation, fusion is the glue that holds everything together.
To promote bony ingrowth and healing, autograft (your own bone) or allograft (donor bone) is packed into and around the instrumentation. Bone graft products come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The fusion heals the spine into a solid mass for several months.
