Procedure for Hymenoplasty in Hyderabad

Hymen is a membrane that partly protects the opening of the vagina. The form and appearance of the hymen vary from woman to woman but is usually a half-moon shape at the bottom of the vaginal opening. Hymen can be broken or torn at various points in a woman’s life, whether caused by tampon insertion, exercise, or sexual intercourse. We commonly associate minor bleeding with the rupture of the hymen. In certain cultures and traditions, an intact hymn is synonymous with the virginity of a woman. Hymenoplasty, also referred to as hymenorrhaphy or hymen building surgery, is typically performed for cultural or religious purposes prior to marriage.

Others seek surgery as a method of sexual assault therapy. No matter why the hymen is restored, we can perform the surgery in less than an hour under local anesthesia with instantly noticeable results.

During surgery, the patient may only need local anesthesia but may be sedated for relaxation throughout the operation. The patient will lie comfortably on a table with pegs spaced apart. Hymen will be detected and partly excreted to extract uneven tissue from previous tears. The hymen will be sutured in two layers using dissolvable stitches. For certain women, a small piece of tissue from another part of the vagina will need to be grafted to the opening of the vagina to reconstruct the hymen.

How soon after recovery can I have sexual intercourse?

We will suggest at least 30 days between surgery and having sexual intercourse again for the first time.

Precautions and procedures before and after hymenoplasty

Before surgery, you can follow instructions from your doctor. There could be some swelling and spot bleeding after the hymenoplasty.

Since this is a clinical procedure that needs no hospital stay, avoid strenuous exercise and heavy lifting. Typically, after consulting your physician, you will go back to work the next day. Light bleeding may occur within the first 48 to 72 hours, but this is perfectly common.

Recovery of After the Hymen Repair

Following your plastic surgery, you would need to wash the area gently with soap and water regularly. There will slight swelling and bleeding for 2-4 weeks, but the pain should be mild and should be gone within a week of surgery. You can get a prescription for pain relief and antibiotics to help with the pain and avoid infection.
You should refrain from any genital insertion before the night of your wedding, including tampons. This will cause the incisions to heal fully and prevent the new hymen from breaking up. You should also stop heavy lifting and other strenuous exercise, as this can hurt your recovery.
You should be able to return to work the day after we have repaired the hymen. One week after surgery, be able to resume a light exercise routine. You should avoid heavy lifting exercise for 4-6 weeks.

Risks & Complications of hymenoplasty surgery

Each operation has risks and potential complications. Fortunately, the vast majority of our patients with hymenoplasty in Toronto and Mississauga have no problems with their surgery and are extremely pleased with their results.

Risks are rare, but we may require additional medications or even surgery when they occur. Such risks include infection, bleeding, scarring, intercourse, pain, and deformity. Also, the amount of bleeding on the first intercourse after surgery cannot be predicted. However, most patients never experience these risks because they are quite rare.

What is the Hymenoplasty surgery success rate in Hyderabad?

Hymenoplasty is a completely successful operation with a success rate as high as 98%. Sometimes, when a woman does not take precautions or advice from a doctor or has other complications, the outcome of the surgery may not be a complete success.
