Dr Y K Mishra
He is armed with a rich experience of more than 29 years, having specialised in cardiac surgeries. He has to his credit more than 19,000 open heart surgeries, which include minimally invasive cardiac surgery, port access approach (key hole) for valve surgery, Atrial septal defect (ASD) closure, carotid artery endarterectomy , aortic aneurysms, Extra corporial life support ECMO, cardiac arrhythmia surgery , total arterial revascularization, minimally invasive coronary artery bypass surgery on beating heart, Bentall’s operation , Aortic arch and thoracic abdominal aortic repair with excellent results.
Dr Y K Mishra has conducted more than 500 successful robotic cardiac surgery and 1000 Redo Cardiac Surgeries. He has been a leading member of the core Heart team for development of TAVR in Fortis Escorts Heart Institute and has also played an active part in Heart Transplantation and Ventricular Assist Device procedures.
Dr Y K Mishra additionally holds a keen interest in training, education and research work. He has to his credit more than 150 scientific papers published. His expertise in cardiac surgery is acknowledged globally and he has regularly participated in more than 200 international and national conferences to deliver lectures. He has also played a key role in teaching and training of DNB students.
His global outreach includes patients he has operated on from countries like USA, UK, Iraq, UAE, Oman, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Africa (Mauritius, Djibouti, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Tanzania ,Nigeria, Kenya, Botswana) and Central Asia (Kazakhstan Uzbekistan Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan ). He has exhibited his excellence in surgical procedures by performing Live cases in workshop in Thailand, Bangladesh and Nepal.
