Dr Suresh completed his MBBS from AIMS, Bellur and MS (Gen Surgery) from St. Johns Medical College and Hospital, Bangalore. After completing his surgical training from St John’s Medical College and Hospital, Bangalore, he proceeded to pursue a minimally invasive Hepato-biliary surgical fellowship at L’Institut Mutualiste Montsouris, Paris where he became proficient in treating all forms of liver and pancreatic cancers. He then went on to pursue two-year post-doctoral basic science research fellowship at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA.
Dr Suresh is specialized in transplantation of patients with antibodies against their donors, including blood group incompatible and positive cross-match transplantation. He has numerous international presentations and publications to his credit in this field. He also hold many years of experience in his field and is well versed in Porto-systemic shunt procedures for portal hypertension, laparoscopic pseudocyst drainage, Cysto-jejunostomy and Cysto-gastrostomy for pancreatic pseudocysts, Splenectomies, and emergency liver resections for liver trauma.
His surgical interests include Liver, Pancreas and Kidney transplantation, surgeries for Liver and Pancreatic Cancer (both open and laparoscopic), surgeries for cancer of the bile duct and correction of bile-duct injuries, and complex vascular surgeries for portal hypertension. Dr. Suresh is presently working as a consultant HPB and Multi-organ Transplant surgeon in the Global Integrated Liver Care Unit (GILC) at BGS Global Hospital in Bangalore.
