Cervical Microdisc Surgery in Turkey
A cervical microdiscectomy is a procedure in which a surgeon uses a microscope and microsurgical tools to remove a portion of a damaged disc in the cervical spine (neck).
Often spongy disks which support the seven neck bones (cervical spine) get damaged to the point where corrective surgery is required. Cervical microdisk surgery (cervical microdiscectomy) is a procedure in which all or part of a herniated disc is removed in the neck. Often it is done without the need for a merger. If this is the case, it retains full range of motion in the neck.
Recovery from cervical microdisc surgery will depend on which version of the procedure was performed. If no fusion was necessary, the recovery period will be shorter. With a fusion, full recovery typically takes several months when physical therapy and rehabilitation is included.
