Dr. Thimmappa Hegde

Dr. Thimappa Hegde is the Director of the Narayana Institute of Neurosciences. He served as the faculty of NIMHANS as professor of neurosurgery. Dr Thimappa Hegde completed his MBBS from Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute, Bangalore in 1981,MCh in Neuro Surgery, National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) in 1989.His services include brain tumour surgery.

He has over 29 years of experience. He has authored 30 scientific publications in leading journals and has contributed chapters to a book on the history of neurosciences. Hence, all these factors contributed in ranking him among the best neurosurgeons in India Dr Thimappa was recognized by the Lions Club, Bengaluru, as an ‘Outstanding Citizen’ and visited USA & Canada on a special exchange program from the Rotary International. He holds membership of Neurological Society of India.
