Dr. Antony Robert Charles is a Pediatric Surgeon & Urologer. He centered on Pediatric and Neonatal treatment as well as emergency cases related to Pediatric Trauma. He specializes in Neonatal Surgery and Pediatric Urology.
At the renowned AIIMS in Delhi, Dr. Antony Robert Charles received advanced training in Pediatric Surgery, following which he taught at St. John’s Medical College, in Bangalore where he was an Associate Professor.
He then went overseas and became a Fellow at the Children’s Hospital in Westmead in Sydney , Australia-completing his Laparoscopy and Urology training at that institution. As a result he is also an specialist in childhood Minimally Invasive Laparoscopic procedures.
Award by the University of Sydney for 2 consecutive years. His commitment to his profession caused him to be at the forefront of relief activities, leading a medical team in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands following the Tsunami.
He has an active interest in ethical issues related to maternal care and children’s long-term care, and the protection of children’s rights. Dr. Antony has published several publications in peer reviewed journals as an involved pediatric surgeon in Bangalore and contributed chapters in the textbook ‘Pediatric Surgery,’ edited by Dr. DK Gupta, New Delhi. He has also co-wrote a chapter in the Pediatric Nephrology textbook.
