Dr. Sujatha Thyagarajan
Dr. Sujatha Thyagarajan relocated to Bangalore after completing training and UK experience in Pediatrics and Intensive Care.
She will provide Pediatric OPD, Pediatric Emergency, Inpatient, and PICU / NICU care at Rainbow Children’s Hospital. She specializes in providing emergency and intensive care for General Pediatric Medical (Pneumonia, Dengue, Convulsions, Encephalitis, etc.), Surgical (Burns, Trauma, Head injuries) and Specialist Intensive Pediatric care for cases of neurological, neurochirurgical, trauma, cardiac, hemato-oncological and bone marrow / solid organ transplants.
Dr Sujatha Thyagarajan graduated from the prestigious Bangalore Medical College, Bangalore, and continued her post-graduate education in Pediatrics and Intensive Pediatric Care in the UK. She has a Pediatrics CCT from Cambridge, UK and experience at leading PICU centers in Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cambridge, Birmingham and Guys and St Thomas ‘s Hospital, London. She worked as PICU Consultant and Lead for Education and Research at the Barts and London Children’s Hospital ‘s prestigious trauma center in London before moving to India.
Since joining Rainbow Children’s Hospital she was the Clinical Lead in Pediatrics and PICU at Columbia Asia Hospital, Whitefield. She has also previously worked at Bangalore’s Manipal Hospital, Dr Malathi Manipal Hospital and HCG group of Hospitals.
She has a passion for teaching and teaches students from DNB and MRCPCH, and is an MRCPCH examiner. She is the founder member of PediSTARS, India (Pediatric Simulation Training & Research Society) and president. She has several international presentations and has been a national and international faculty speaker, as well as publications in peer-reviewed newspapers. She has spoken about important pediatric issues in the media
