Dr. Ibrahim Karaca Basaran
Dr. Ibrahim Karaca Basaran, was born in 1979 and attended Tarsus American College for his secondary and high school education. He received his MD from Marmara University Faculty of Medicine in 2003. He earned his degree and completed his specialty in Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine. He became an Associate Professor in 2017 after completing his mandatory duty, and now Başaran, MD sees patients in his own clinic in Levent, Istanbul. Başaran, MD’s pastimes include drumming, basketball, and motorbike riding.
He passed all written and oral exams to earn the ECFMG certificate required for active work in the United States in 2003. (ECFMG ID: 06553911, USMLE STEPS 1-2-3). Internal medicine rotation at Imperial College, Royal Brompton Hospital, London, England; surgical rotation at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA. He finished his Fellowship at Temple Health’s Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, one of the country’s most prestigious medical institutions.
Dr. Ibrahim Karaca Basaran performed roughly 500 surgical operations in a variety of clinics after being granted the authority to see, examine, and operate on patients in the United States of America. He took part in a number of surgeries in the United States with renowned doctors. In 2009, he worked in Birmingham, Alabama for breast aesthetics with James Grotting, MD and Louis Vasconez, MD. For three months, he worked on rhinoplasty with Nazm Cerkeş. Oscar Ramirez, the top name in the world in this field, taught him about endoscopic (no scar) face aesthetics surgeries, which are his specialty in all cosmetic surgery procedures (Miami-Florida).
He learned more about breast reconstruction from Hilton Becker, MD, who is best known for his Becker prosthesis. He was with Joe Hunstad, MD (Charlotte, North Carolina), Ozan Sozer, MD (El Paso, Texas), and Constantino Mendieta, MD for post-weight reduction body contouring aesthetics, which has recently improved significantly (Miami). He travelled to Brazil, one of the most advanced countries in the field of body and buttock aesthetics, where he performed surgery with Raul Gonzalez, MD and furthered his education. Bahmen Guyuryon, MD (Cleveland, Ohio), who discovered these surgical techniques and taught them all over the world, taught him migraine surgery, which is another area of interest.
Before returning to Turkey, he received training in minimally invasive surgical treatments from Daniel Baker, MD (New York), one of the most prominent ophthalmology and facial aesthetics surgeons in the world. He paid a visit to Dr. Wu in Taiwan, who was one of Asia’s pioneers in endoscopic facial plastic surgery. Dr. Basaran received deep plane face lift training from Dr. O’Daniel, Dr. Auersvald (Brazil), and Dr. Jacono at clinics in Louisville, Kentucky (NY). In 2007, he completed his basic microsurgery training at the University of Zurich’s Department of Neurosurgery.
