Dr. Satish Rao

Dr. Satish Rao heads the Department of Surgical Oncology at HCG ICS Khubchandani cancer centre Mumbai. He has over 23 years of experience in Head, Neck & Breast Oncology surgeries. He has completed his M.S (General Surgery) from a reputed institute in Mumbai along with training in surgical oncology from a well-known cancer hospital.

Dr Rao has undergone advanced training in Head & Neck Oncology at Sloan Kettering Cancer centre, New York, USA. He has received specialized training in endoscopic laser surgery for head & neck cancer from the University of Kiel and University of Gottingen, Germany.

He has a vast experience in operating oral cancers, thyroid and parathyroid tumours.

He is also credited with performing a large number of laser surgery cases for Malignant and Pre-Malignant lesions in the oral cavity and larynx (i.e. Voice conservation surgeries).

Dr Rao has performed a large number of Breast conservation Surgeries including Lumpectomies. He has more than 25 publications and papers to his credit in International and National journals. Dr Rao has been in the executive committee of the Indian Association of Surgical Oncology, Foundation for Head & Neck Oncology and International College of Surgeons, Indian Section.
