Prof. Toe Lwin acknowledged the willingness of Myanmar’s predominantly Buddhist population to donate organs, particularly among Buddhist monks. While live-related kidney transplants were being conducted on a limited scale, Prof. Lwin engaged with MOHAN Foundation’s staff, demonstrating interest in their Transplant Coordinators’ Training Programme. He expressed a desire to send a senior nurse for a three-month training time and admired the pioneering work accomplished in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh in the cadaveric organ donation arena, expressing intent for future collaboration during subsequent visits.
