How to apply for Medical Visa/ e-visa online?
People in Kenya can apply for an Indian medical visa or e-visa online by visiting this website https://indianvisaonline.gov.in and adding the details that are asked on the website. There are two ways of applying for a medical visa. The patient can apply for a regular medical visa and submit it in person to the Indian Embassy to receive the medical visa in post or they can apply for e-visa online and receive the medical visa in their email id. The step-by-step process of how to apply for a medical visa online is given below,
Visit the online website https://indianvisaonline.gov.in and click on the regular visa and open the application form.
Give the details asked in the form like the patient’s country, and the place of the Indian Embassy (Mombasa/Nairobi) where the patient chooses to submit the form.
The patient fills in other details asked in the application form such as nationality, Date of Birth, E-mail id, expected date of arrival, and visa type and gives the access code.
In the application form the patient gives details of the hospital in the country that the patient resides in, details of the hospital in India, duration of treatment and stay, no. of entries, the patient’s purpose of visit, expected date of journey, port of arrival in India with the date and expected port of exit from India, and other information asked in the form.
The application form is submitted and the website generates an application id. This Id is used for communication between the Indian Embassy or Mission and the patient for further details.
The patient can choose to pay the medical visa fees online or print the application form to submit it to the Indian Embassy.
When the patient chooses to pay the fees online, the website asks the patient to choose the date and time of appointment in the Indian Embassy or Mission in the country and the calculation of the visa fees, service charges and other fees are provided on the website according to the visa type of the patient.
The patient then pays the fees using the e-payment service provider system.
If the e-payment and the appointment schedule are not available on the website, the patient prints the application form and takes other documents to the Indian Mission/Embassy in their country.
The patient can upload their recent photo with white background directly on the website or attach their photo after printing the application form.
After filling out the application form click Print Registered Application on the home page of the Indian Visa Online website.
Certain details must be filled in again and then the applicant must click ‘Reprint’.
While applying for an e-visa the photo of the applicant must be uploaded directly to the website as instructed. The applicant’s photo must be clear and have a white background and the photo must be 2 inches x 2 inches in size.
The space below the photograph and the bottom of the second page of the application form must be signed by the applicant.
The appointment date is given in the right margin of the application form. The applicant can visit the Indian Mission on the specified date and submit the printed application form along with other documents and submit it to the Indian Embassy during their business hours.
People who want a short period of medical treatment in India can apply for an e-visa that is valid for 6 months.
The application form can be filled only by one person, a separate form is used by another person to apply for a medical visa.
