Ossiculoplasty in Turkey
Ossiculoplasty is a common procedure that involves adjusting, correcting, or fixing the bones of the middle ear that are known as the ossicles. Usually, the procedure is performed on patients with conductive hearing loss arising from impaired middle ear function of these bones. In this operation, the surgeon accesses the middle ear through a small incision (behind the ear or through the ear canal) and then performs the necessary repositioning of the osicles, reshaping of the osicles, and/or inserting of the prothesic bones. Often this operation is undertaken in combination with tympanoplasty (reconstruction of the eardrum).
