About

The Ocean Road Cancer Institute (ORCI) is Tanzania’s sole comprehensive cancer treatment center. The Institute was founded in June 1996 and works in collaboration with the community to develop and sustain an integrated, accessible, and affordable cancer health care system that provides high-quality care to improve patients’ health and well-being. The hospital is responsible for the control and management of the Institute, as well as any hospitals or health facilities entrusted to the Institute by order published in the Official Gazette.

In accordance with medical ethics, the hospitals provide medical care to inpatients and outpatients suffering from cancer and other diseases, as well as stimulate and promote programs of health education, particularly on cancer. They also conduct training programs and provide consulting services.
