Ebstein Repair Surgery in Turkey
Ebstein defect in tricuspid valve is an abnormality. The tricuspid valve divides the right atrium from the right ventricle (the chamber that collects blood from the body) (the chamber that pumps blood to the lungs).
Two leaflets of the tricuspid valve are pushed down into the pumping cavity in Ebstein anomaly. The third leaflet is elongated, and can be attached to the chamber wall. Rarely, the valve is so deformed that blood can not easily flow in the usual direction (right atrium to right ventricle).
Treatment of Ebstein anomaly depends on the severity of the defect and your signs and symptoms. The goal of treatment is to reduce your symptoms and avoid future complications, such as heart failure and arrhythmias.
Several procedures can be used to surgically treat Ebstein anomaly and associated defects,
-
Tricuspid valve repair
-
Tricuspid valve replacement.
- Closure of the atrial septal defect
- Maze procedure
Children who have surgery generally do well.
