Modified Radical Mastectomy Surgery in Turkey
Modified radical mastectomy is a procedure in which the entire breast, including the skin, isola, nipple, and most axillary lymph nodes, is removed, while the main pectoral muscle is spared. Since breast cancer care progressed, breast protection has been more commonly used. Nevertheless, mastectomy is still a safe choice for women suffering from breast cancer.
The surgeon removes the breast during the procedure, including the skin, breast tissue, isola and nipple, and most of the lymph nodes under the arm. It also removes the lining over the large muscle in the chest, but the muscle itself is left in place.
You will stay in hospital for one or two nights after your surgery. Thin plastic tubes to remove any fluid will be placed in your breast region and attached to the tiny suction machines. Such drains would need to be held in for up to 3 weeks. Staff at the hospital will teach you how to take care of them before you see the doctor afterwards. After the surgery there is a fair chance you would feel exhausted. Seek to take a break and relax for the 2 weeks after the surgery.
