Senning Surgery in Turkey
The Senning procedure is intended only for the part of anatomical correction of congenitally affected transposition of the great arteries in the atrial switches. Such unusual procedures are conducted in only a few centers around the world; hence, most cardiac surgeons have little experience with the Senning procedure.
Senning has the ability to provide the pulmonary venous atrium with adequate power, to preserve optimal configuration of the mitral valve, to reduce damage to the sinus node and to make the coronary sinus available for electrophysiological studies or intervention by keeping the coronary sinus in the systemic venous baffle.
