Renal Angiography in Turkey
A renal angiography is an imaging test to look at the blood vessels in your kidneys. Your healthcare provider can use it to look at the ballooning of a blood vessel (aneurysm), narrowing of a blood vessel (stenosis), or blockages in a blood vessel. He or she can also see how well blood is flowing to your kidneys.
The catheter is put into a blood vessel through a small cut or incision. X-ray dye, also called contrast medium, is injected. The dye makes the blood vessels easier to see on X-ray images. X-rays are then taken.
Renal Angiogram is required for,
- Bulging of a blood vessel (aneurysm)
- Narrowing of a blood vessel (stenosis)
- Spasm of a blood vessel (vasospasm)
- An abnormal connection between arteries and veins (arteriovenous malformation)
- Blood clot (thrombosis)
- Blockage (occlusion)
- Tumors
- Bleeding (hemorrhage)
- Complications from a kidney transplant
