Cystoscopy in Turkey
Cystoscopy is a procedure that allows your doctor to examine the lining of your bladder and the tube that carries urine out of your body (urethra). A hollow tube (cystoscope) equipped with a lens is inserted into your urethra and slowly advanced into your bladder.
Investigate the causes of the symptoms and signs: These signs and symptoms may include blood in the urine, incontinence, bladder overactivity and painful urination. Cystoscopy can also help in identifying the cause of frequent infections in the urinary tract. Cystoscopy, however, is not usually performed when you are having an aggressive urinary tract infection.
Diagnosis of and disorders of the bladder: Bladder cancer, bladder stones and inflammation of the bladder (cystitis) are examples of this.
Treat illnesses and diseases in the bladder: Special instruments for treating certain conditions can be passed through the cystoscope. For example, during cystoscopy very small tumors of the bladder can be removed.
Diagnose an enlarged prostate. Cystoscopy can reveal a narrowing of the urethra where it passes through the prostate gland, indicating an enlarged prostate
