Holmium Ureteroscopy in Turkey
Ureteroscopy is a technique for treating kidney stones that involves going through the urethra and bladder through a small mirror, called a ureteroscope, and up the ureter to the point where the stone is located. Ureteroscopy is typically performed under general anesthesia and usually takes from one to three hours to complete.
The ureteroscopy is most often used for stones in the ureter in the lower half of the ureter, especially for stones closest to the bladder. Shock wave lithotripsia (SWL) is the most common treatment for stones in the kidney. Cannot use SWL treatment in everyone. Ureteroscopy is a safe option for patients who are pregnant, morbidly obese or suffer from a blood clotting disorder.
Ureteroscopy usually can be performed as an outpatient procedure, however; patients may require an overnight hospital stay if the procedure proves lengthy or difficult.
